However, the public focus is mostly on disease interventions for the elderly population after the age of 60, and there is a lack of sufficient understanding of the health needs of the population before the age of 60. In order to better understand the current health status, health-related behaviors and dietary nutrition awareness of middle-aged and elderly people in China, Danone Open Research Center and the Chinese Nutrition Society jointly launched the "Nutrition Knowledge and Behavior of People Aged 40-60" at the "Healthy Aging: Nutrition and Countermeasures" session of the 15th National Conference on Nutrition Science held recently. During the 15th National Conference on Nutritional Sciences, the Danone Open Research Center and the Chinese Nutrition Society jointly launched the "White Paper on Nutrition Knowledge and Behavior of People Aged 40-60".

It is reported that the project takes intestinal health and immunity, bones and mobility, brain and sleep as the main direction of discussion, through the form of questionnaires, more than 6000 Chinese people aged 40-60 years old will have an in-depth understanding of the dietary structure, life and exercise patterns, nutritional supplements and factors to consider, the main health problems faced and health demands and other knowledge and behavior, through professional Through professional analysis of the results, we will drive the public to improve their nutritional literacy.

Anti-aging is often misunderstood to be the exclusive preserve of the elderly. In fact, early nutritional intervention to cope with aging has long been a consensus in the medical and nutrition fields. Zhang Jian, director of the Geriatric Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society and director of the Geriatric Nutrition Department of the Institute of Nutrition and Health of the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, mentioned that China is gradually entering an aging society, and by 2050, the proportion of people over 65 will be close to 30%; at the same time, chronic diseases are gradually developing ina younger direction. Healthy aging needs to start from nutrition intervention.

Physical activity is an important indicator of healthy aging, closely related to immunity, cardiopulmonary endurance, skeletal muscle and mobility. Chang Cuiqing, vice president of the Chinese Nutrition Society and professor of the Institute of Sports Medicine at Peking University Third Hospital, emphasized that the decline of bones, muscles and joints affects the physical health of the "40 +" population, and dietary nutrition plays a key role in improving the physical activity of this group.

The deputy director of the Probiotic Prebiotics and Health Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society and researcher of the Institute of Nutrition and Health of the Chinese CDC, Xiang Xuesong, said that the human intestinal flora affects nutrient absorption, metabolism and immunity, and early intervention of intestinal flora is very important to optimize the nutrition and health status of aging.

In addition to changes in physical functions, brain decline is also one of the manifestations of aging. Yang Qinbing, chief physician and director of clinical nutrition at Tsinghua Chang Gung Hospital in Beijing, pointed out that brain health is closely related to sleep, and that a healthier lifestyle and targeted nutritional interventions can have a positive impact on sleep and brain power improvement.
